Participating in a summer program is a great way to learn more about interested health careers, gain exposure to clinical and research opportunities, and have an enriching, hands-on experience. Many of these programs will have more information about their dates and application process in January 2021 - many programs are still evaluating how they will be run due to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic.

EVMS Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) Students chosen for the program will conduct a pre-selected research project, from start to finish, and present their project outcomes to the scientific community. Students are listed as co-investigators on their projects which are frequently published and presented on the national level. Formal classroom training and personalized application in research design, implementation, and publication make this summer experience a must for anyone considering a career in research. Laney Graduate School's Summer Opportunity for Academic Research (LGS-SOAR)

During the 10-week residential summer program, research fellows conduct full-time research and are mentored by their Faculty Mentor or Principal Investigator and teams of postdocs, research technicians, graduate students and other undergraduates. Our SOAR researchers receive a housing award for residence on the Emory campus and a stipend to support their full-time attention to research training and professional development.

Ohio University Summer Scholars Twenty-two applicants are selected each year to participate in this rigorous five-week program designed to give you an intensive and realistic introduction to the first-year curriculum at the Heritage College. Short-Term Research Experience for Underrepresented Persons (STEP-UP) The STEP-UP Program is a federally funded program managed and supported by the Office of Minority Health Research Coordination (OMHRC) in the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney (NIDDK) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Summer Internship Program The Summer Internship Program (SIP) provides experience in research laboratories to students of diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented minority students, students from economically disadvantaged and underserved backgrounds and students with disabilities that have completed one - two or more years of college. Summer Program in Neuroscience (SPIN)

SPIN '19 is an on-site, 8-week intensive program in neuroscience offered by the Departments of Neurosurgery, and Anatomy & Neurobiology at Boston University School of Medicine. SPIN offers classroom instruction in neuroanatomy, hands-on research experience in a neuroscience lab, and clinical exposure in both the neurosurgery clinic and operating room.

Summer Training as Research Scholars Program STaRS is a dynamic and focused program that is designed to promote access to graduate education for traditionally underrepresented students in science and medicine. Summer Pharmacy Institute

The Summer Pharmacy Institute (SPI) allows students to explore different areas of the pharmacy profession, including a full day workshop devoted to current trends, research, and activities in each of the following focus areas: Hospital, Ambulatory Care, Industry/Research & Development, Community, and Professionalism in the Field.  SPI attendees are typically on site from 9-4 PM each day.  The last day of the institute is a half-day and will conclude by 1:00 PM.

Interns attend workshops and seminars on podiatric medicine, as well as shadow and work with podiatric physicians in hospital, private practice, and outpatient clinic settings. UCLA Public Health Scholars Training Program The UCLA Public Health Scholars Training Program is an 8 week full-time program that provides undergraduate students the opportunity to address health disparities and explore public health through hands-on training, workshops, and leadership and professional development.
