Pre-Health for International Students

The Pre-Health Advising team is excited to support UVA students from around the globe in pursuit of their career aspirations in the health professions.

The process of preparation and application to United States health professional programs is the same whether or not you are a U.S. citizen. The differences relate to:

  • which health professional schools consider international student applicants
  • funding options for your health professional program

For the purposes of application to health professional programs, international students are defined as students who are not green card holders or permanent residents.
