Bio

As the Experiential Learning Coordinator, Nedra is enthusiastic about helping students to find pathways to achieve their career goals through recruiting and establishing paid and credit bearing internships through Virginia Talent+ Opportunity Partnership (VTOP). She focuses on linking UVA students with internships offered by employers in Central Virginia. In this capacity, Nedra engages with various stakeholders in the broader Charlottesville area, such as economic developers, workforce boards, and small businesses.

Nedra is also the program leader for the Truist Leadership Academy which is an immersive, living and learning experience designed to support Black/African-American students and all UVA students who have a passion for inclusion and equity. The program supports students in exploring their career interests and growing their leadership skills. They also will build relationships, gain hands-on skill development from industry professionals, and receive mentorship.

Prior to working for the UVA Career Center, Nedra created the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) division at the United Way of Greater Charlottesville, and also worked in DEI for the UVA Cancer Center.
