Career Counselor, Creative
Bio

As a career counselor within the creative community, John helps students engage in their own development as professionals. He does this through one-on-one counseling sessions, drop-in hours, and programming. John engages his own passion for the arts to support students who want to pursue a field in a creative industry.

Prior to joining the UVA Career Center, John was a career coordinator for a large network of alternative education programs in Portland, Oregon. There he supported building out career related programming for students who have been marginalized from traditional educational pathways. Before that, he worked as a career development coach at Outside In, a homeless youth agency. John is passionate about supporting our society's most underestimated youth and bringing them to the forefront of higher education and fulfilling employment.

John graduated from Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire with a B.S. in Health Promotion and a double minor in Psychology and Studio Art. He also received his Master's in Social Work at Boston University's School of Social Work. He loves all things arts, especially in food, dance, and music. He spends his free time watching anime, running, cooking, eating, and sleeping.
