Information Sessions

The UVA Career Center would be happy to assist in the planning of your On-Grounds Information Session.  If you would like to host an off Grounds event, we are happy to provide assistance, however, we are not able to serve as the liaison between your organization and the venue (as we do for On-Grounds events). You may contact the employer relations team at (434) 924-8900 if you have questions about this process.

If you are planning to host a recruiting presentation that is open to all students, we ask that you submit your tentative presentation details by July 16 (fall sessions) and December 3 (spring sessions) for approval. Event requests submitted after these dates will also be evaluated based on calendar availability.

We approve requests for information session time slots on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to the number of Information Sessions we accommodate, all Information Sessions are limited to one hour increments. Once your information session has been confirmed, please note that the date and time of your session was been vetted to the best of our ability against the current academic and recruiting calendar for potential conflicts. Due to constraints in the calendar, we ask that you begin and end your event at the time listed in your official confirmation to be considerate of any other engagement that is scheduled to take place before or after your scheduled event.

You will receive a confirmation e-mail within 5-7 business days after your request is approved. Changes to information sessions must be approved by the UVA Career Center BEFORE they are advertised to students. Please contact employer relations at (434) 924-8900 so that we can update your event accordingly on the calendar.

Employer Events (Information Sessions, Workshops, and Coffee Chats)

The UVA Career Center would be happy to assist in the planning of your recruiting events. We approve requests for information session time slots on a first-come, first-serve basis. For Fall 2021, we recommend that employers still consider hosting their information sessions, workshops, and other large networking events virtually.

Due to anticipated space constraints for the upcoming semester, there will be limited availability to reserve classroom space on Grounds for information sessions, workshops, and other employer events. If you are interested in hosting a reduced capacity event in Charlottesville (on Wednesdays this Fall), please contact your Account Manager to discuss possible options for your event.

Employer Wednesdays (Fall 2021)

Beginning Wednesday, September 22nd and on Wednesdays throughout the Fall semester, we will be able to host a limited number of partners on Grounds for employer events (on-Grounds Interviews, Coffee Chats/Office Hours, and reduced capacity information sessions – limited technology) in the Bryant Hall Football Suites until 9:00pm.

Please note that there will be a limited number of event times available on Wednesdays and social distancing guidelines will apply.

**Event format for in-person networking nights may change should the University provided any changes to current policies regarding visitors on Grounds.

Step 1: Select A Date and Time

Information Sessions will be scheduled between August 24, 2021 - December 7, 2021 (Fall) and/or January 19, 2022 - May 3, 2022 (Spring). Before selecting a date, please check the calendar to see what dates are already taken by fairs and other large events. We will not approve information sessions that are scheduled to begin within an hour of the start times of events hosted by employers recruiting similar students.

If you would like guidance in selecting a date, please contact employer relations at (434) 924-8900. You are welcome to reference the University Calendar to avoid scheduling conflicts with major University events.
