Assistant Director, Life Transforming Programs
As the Assistant Director of Life Transforming Programs, Megan is responsible for connecting students with life transforming experiences that develop practical skills, networking opportunities, and industry awareness. Megan is the direct contact for the Virginia Alumni Mentoring platform, the Healthcare Lab in DC, and serves as a general career counselor for students who need to create or update professional documents, access career resources, or develop career self-awareness.
Prior to joining the UVA Career Center in August 2018, Megan was an Academic Coordinator in the University of Virginia Athletic Department. In this role, she worked specifically with Field Hockey, Wrestling, and Swim and Dive to coordinate progress towards degree, ensure NCAA eligibility, establish study skills, and support the student-athlete in their transition into and out of the University of Virginia. Additionally, she served as a liaison between the Athletic Department and the Career Center to provide career counseling to the entirety of the student-athlete population. During this time, she became certified as a NCDA Career Development Facilitator, Strong Interest Inventory Practitioner, and Myer Briggs Type Indicator Practitioner. She is passionate about helping each student find a career path that is meaningful and specialized to them.
Megan is a University of Virginia double hoo. She graduated with a B.A. in Media Studies in December 2014 and a M.Ed. in Higher Education in May 2016. She loves Charlottesville and enjoys exploring all things local with her husband, James, and pup, Couper.
