As a general career counselor, Hannah works with students, both individually and in groups, through all stages of career exploration and development. She provides counseling, advising, and coaching services to students in one-on-one appointments, Career Exploration Workshops, and various Career Center presentations. She is passionate about working with students from a holistic perspective, understanding that career decision-making impacts all areas of personal development and growth.
Prior to joining the UVA Career Center in June 2015, Hannah was an Assistant Director within the Office of the Dean of Students at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. She served on the campus Behavioral Intervention Team where she oversaw cases related to student conduct and case management and provided outreach services to students impacted by personal and emotional crises. With a background in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Hannah also has experience working with students in a college counseling clinic and private counseling practice in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Hannah majored in Psychology during her undergraduate education at Wingate University and holds an M.S. in Counselor Education (Clinical Mental Health focus) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In her free time she likes to explore Charlottesville and spend time with her husband, Darren, a resident at UVA Hospital. Hannah also enjoys hiking, searching for the best local coffee shops and breweries, and running the beautiful Rivanna River trail.
