New Grad Student Organization for Science Policy!
The Science Policy Initiative (SPI) at UVa is a new student organization for graduate students who are interested in careers in science policy, or just learning more about how to be engaged in science policy. You can learn more about the organization and sign up for the mailing list to receive announcements about meetings and events on the website (https://spiuva.wordpress.com/)
They're excited to announce their first inaugural science policy career panel! The panel will be on April 24th from 3:30-5pm in MEB 3110 auditorium with a networking reception to follow in the first floor atrium from 5-6pm. Directions to MEB can be found here. (**Please note: If you do not have a health system ID, we can let you into the main door of MEB on Jeanette Lancaster Way. However, there will not be a designated person to let you in the building if you arrive late.)
The panel will highlight Ph.D. scientists and engineers who are currently working in science policy, their career path, and their advice for getting involved in science policy as a graduate student. More information about the panelists can be found in the attached flyer.
Please register here if you plan to attend the career panel so that they will have the appropriate amount of food for the reception. Hope to see you there!!
