Global Internships for Students Interested in Business
Studying Human Rights and Multiculturalism in Cape Town, South Africa not only exposed me to a vast array of potential careers in law, public policy, communications, etc., in many ways, it prepared me for these positions! And, as the saying goes: “opportunity favors the prepared”. Lucky for you, the Office of Global Internships is offering a series of internships that will not only prepare you for careers in marketing, social entrepreneurship, education, and architecture (just to name a few), it will provide you with an exhilarating sense of adventure and purpose as you explore a new location.
The Office of Global Internships offers a multitude of internships, all of which, you can find on Handshake. Locations for these internships range from Belgium to India, Morocco to China, and Argentina to Indonesia. Application deadlines and additional positions will be posted throughout February and March. To learn more about these opportunities, please attend an information session in Hotel A on February 14th and 15th from 11:00am to 12:30pm. Additionally, the Global Internship Scholarship Competition is open and accepting applications.

Pacific Licensing Studio- Marketing and Social Media Intern
Pacific Licensing Studio (PLS) is a brand management and consumer products licensing agency, focusing on Asian solutions for intellectual property. A sustainable consumer products licensing business relies critically on a formula that works for all parties – downstream licensee, upstream principal and the agency in between managing the business on behalf of both clients – we focus on implementing this formula, and managing the balance between the parties to the betterment of all stakeholders.
Internship: The intern will be engaged in a variety of marketing-related projects involving both PLS’s clients and PLS’s own corporate branding and communication platforms. A significant portion of the projects (though not necessarily all) will involve social media and digital marketing.

UVA in Shanghai: Society, Culture, and Internship program
UVA and East China Normal University (ECNU) are partnering to provide students the valuable opportunity to couple 6-credits of coursework with professional work experience in the dynamic metropolis of Shanghai over the course of 12 weeks during the summer of 2017.
Potential internship fields: travel, events, start-ups, marketing, community development, media, writing and editing, education, graphic design, business, non-governmental organizations

Mrida – Social Enterprise Intern
New Delhi, India
Mrida (Sanskrit for ‘Soil’) is a Social Business Venture that seeks to build sustainable & scalable business models aimed at holistic rural development and economic as well as social upliftment at the Base of the Pyramid (BOP).
Internship: Two interns will engage in a variety of activities related to Mrida’s mission, including conducting field studies and critical analyses of initiatives, providing recommendations for future action and expansion, developing sales and marketing plans to build market linkages with farmers and rural artisans, and more.

East Bali Cashews- Marketing and Communications Intern
East Bali Cashews (EBC) is the first large-scale cashew processing facility in Bali and one of the first village-based facilities in Southeast Asia. The company mission of EBC is: to provide employment and professional development opportunities to women; to produce delicious, high-quality cashews for an international market; to create a business model that is replicable throughout Eastern Indonesia, providing additional income and community development in cashew growing regions; to consider environmental and social sustainability in all aspects of our business.
Internship: The internship will consist of a range of tasks within the marketing department of East Bali Cashews, with frequent exposure to other functions of the business (including PR and Business Development). The focus will lie in (but will not be limited to) strategizing marketing initiatives for the international and domestic market and communicating with press, as well as streamlining & developing the company’s brand identity.
