Fourth year in Finance: Network, Network, Network!
Recruiting in finance for the first time? Didn’t like your finance internship and want to try again? Whatever the reason you’re here, you must work fast! Interviews can come as early as the end of the summer, so keep an eye on your handshake. Continue to study interview prep materials and come do mock interviews at the career center to make sure you’ll ace the interview.
The most important part of recruiting for full time jobs is your network. Since many finance firms offered full time jobs to their interns, recruiting for a full time job is going to be more competitive than recruiting for the 3rd year internship. Keep in touch with contacts, such as UVA alum or recruiters at your favorite companies throughout the summer. Have them put you in touch with people in the roles and at the companies you want to work for full time. Doing so will increase your chances of securing that illusive interview spot!
