Medical and surgical assistant needed for a dermatology office. Opportunity to learn clinical skills including medical, surgical, and cosmetic assisting. Premed students or pre-PA students who are dedicated and willing to commit to one year are preferred. Successful completion will result in a recommendation letter and help applying to school. Must have references.

Preferred qualifications:- Bachelor's degree from a four year university OR registered nurse- Interest in advancing in the medical field


  • Recommended: 1+ years Medical Assistant/Registered Nurse with experience in a busy medical office, preferably Dermatology
  • COVID Vaccination required 
  • Possess a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Must be detail-oriented and a self-starter
  • Must have a great attitude and be reliable
  • Must possess sound judgment, good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be computer literate, EMR experience is a must
  • Must be able to type 45+ WPM
  • Must be able to pass a background check and Drug Screen 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performing patient interviews to collect health history and maintaining patient health records
  • Assisting with medical procedures and examinations, including skin biopsies, surgeries, laser treatments, etc.
  • Scribing for the healthcare provider during medical examinations and procedures in electronic health records
  • Performing wound checks, dressing changes, and suture removals
  • Administrative duties include inventory control, ordering of medical supplies, flipping and cleaning rooms and stocking rooms
