Second-Round Key Dates & Deadlines*
- May 2, 2021: Second-round deadline for employers to post internships.
- May 16, 2021: Deadline for students to apply to internships.
- May 18 – May 28, 2021: Employers offer virtual or phone interviews.
- June 1 – June 4, 2021: Students receive internship offers.
- June 9, 2021: Deadline for students to respond to internship offers.
- June 21, 2021: Internships begin. Start dates may vary depending on the employer.

Hoos Internship Accelerator (HIA) Opportunities - Marketing, Communications, & Business
The World AIDS Museum and Educational Center is seeking a volunteer or intern who wants experience in non-profit development, marketing, and public relations. The volunteer or intern will assist museum staff with managing fundraising campaigns for the Museum, as well as marketing Museum programs and exhibits, and promoting public interest through various media outlets. The position will include research on potential donors for the Museum and creating content for social media to raise awareness of the Museum and its programs.
The Virginia Film Festival’s Patron Engagement Project Intern will create digital marketing strategies and content aimed at engaging current VA Film Festival donors, sponsors, patrons as well as attracting new prospects. This position will work with the VAFF’s Development Officer and Outreach Coordinator over the summer months to develop strategies and plans for engaging and attracting new donors, sponsors, and patrons around this upcoming Virginia Film Festival, to be held October 27-31, 2021. This is a dual research and implementation position, where the incumbent will both develop the plans for a digital marketing campaign to be implemented August through October leading up to the Film Festival as well as create and implement pre-season content during the internship across digital channels.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Outreach is seeking a clear communicator, creative mind, and civically engaged student intern to help us create presentations, pamphlets, and other communications materials showcasing the public-impact work that UVA carries out in localities around the Commonwealth. This intern may also be responsible for helping to maintain databases in which this public-impact source information is housed. Experience creating engaging PowerPoint presentations, graphic design, programs like InDesign or Photoshop are a plus, as is the ability to process written information into compelling, concise talking points.

The startup’s team members all work remotely and our headquarters are located in New Jersey. BTTT supports mid career professionals in career transitions and goal-setting and productivity skills development. During the pandemic, BTTT launched two signature programs. One program is a new annual retreat goal-setting retreat called The Genius Retreat. BTTT wants to build from the retreat success by nurturing existing retreat customers and attracting new leads for future retreats. The intern will develop an e-newsletter and social media content for past attendees and prospects.

Duties will include brainstorming new social media campaigns and posts, creating and refining social media graphics, and other digital design work based on client needs (email, web, etc.). We’re looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who is excited to come up with new ideas every day and is able to quickly master new topics and platforms. In return, you’ll get real work for your portfolio plus mentorship on succeeding in a creative field. Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
