Curious about On-Grounds Interviewing?

Andrew Savage

Jumpstart your career by participating in the University of Virginia’s On-Grounds Interviewing Program (OGI)! Employers from all over the United States want to hire UVA students and conduct interviews on Grounds to offer exciting full-time and internship opportunities.

All current University of Virginia degree-seeking students are eligible to participate.

But first, you must complete the On-Grounds Interviewing Orientation through Handshake, agreeing to all policies.

How do you find OGI job opportunities on Handshake?

Go to the “Jobs” tabs on Handshake then begin to apply filters. Your window should look like this:

Then, you will select the “Interviewing on campus” option and click “See Jobs”. This will bring you to a full list of opportunities for which you can apply and participate in OGI.

Please make sure to follow all instructions and make a note of the positions you apply for! Additionally, you’ll notice timelines for primary and alternate candidates. Make sure to note these times on your calendar, and check your email and Handshake account to make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to sign up for an interview slot. Once the slots are filled and the allotted time period has passed, you will no longer have an opportunity to interview for that position.

Contact the UVA Career Center if you have questions or come by Newcomb 170 for Drop-In Advising Hours, Monday through Friday from 1:00-5:00PM.
