Dermatology Clinical Assistant/Scribe - Family Dermatology of Albemarle

The Family Dermatology of Albemarle is currently seeking an individual to work as a Dermatology Clinical Assistant and Scribe during their bridge year (July 2019 - July 2020). This will be the eighth year this office has hosted this opportunity.

The dermatology assistant/scribe would be responsible for bringing patients back from the waiting room, taking an initial history of the medical problems to be discussed, generating prescriptions to be sent electronically, helping with surgical procedures, and providing medical education to patients regarding dermatological conditions and treatment. This individual does not need to have any prior dermatology or surgical knowledge. All knowledge/training is provided on the job. This is a paid position. 

This position would be of great benefit to an individual wanting to take a bridge year, yet simultaneously obtain outstanding hands-on experience applicable to furthering their medical career aspirations. After working with the practice for a year, the individual would be comfortable seeing live patients, taking succinct medical histories, assisting with surgical procedures, interfacing with electronic medical records, and well-versed in dermatological diseases and treatments.
