Hutcheson Undergraduate Fellowship Award: Application Deadline March 8th
The Hutcheson Undergraduate Fellowship awards are funded by a charitable gift from Randy and Rossie Hutcheson. Rossie is the major current benefactor of the Carter Immunology Center (CIC) here at UVA and daughter of its founding benefactor Beirne Carter. These awards provide a $5000 summer stipend for students engaged in a minimum 10-week fulltime research project in the laboratories of Carter Immunology Center members, or in the laboratories of other UVA faculty involved in collaborative projects with CIC faculty. Up to 5 fellowships will be awarded each year. For a list of CIC faculty, please see https://research.med.virginia.edu/cic/faculty.
These fellowships are competitively awarded based on student's undergraduate record in coursework to date and their research proposal. Application materials are to include a brief (~2 page) research plan (written by the student with their mentor’s input), a letter of support from the faculty mentor, and the student’s SIS transcript. The application package (preferably as a single pdf) is to be submitted to Peggy Morris (email@example.com) by 5pm on March 8, 2019.
