Megan Moyer | Economics '04

Vice President of Research at Everfi Megan has built a long and illustrious career in research, working for such organizations like Northrop Grumman, USA Football, and the Tampa Bay Lightening. As head of research of Everfi she is helping to revolutionize Ed Tech. She graduated from UVa with a degree in Economics and received her MBA from San Diego State University.

Julia Foutz | Psychology '12 

Research Analyst at United Network for Organ Sharing Julia is a Research professional with experience in statistical programming, health policy, and research, including 5+ years experience using R and SAS. She also has expertise inepidemiology, research methods, biostatistics, social and behavioral health, and health policy. Julia received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Public Health from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Lisa Jakub | Sociology '10

Author, speaker, workshop leader, yoga instructor, and former child actor Lisa Jakub is an author, Kripalu Yoga teacher, and retired actor who has more than forty film and television credits to her name, including Mrs. Doubtfire and Independence Day. At the age of twenty-two, Lisa retired from her eighteen-year acting career in search of a life that felt more authentic to her. She has found a happier, more purposeful life as a writer, teacher, and an advocate for mental health awareness. She teaches therapeutically-focused yoga classes for anxiety and trauma and leads workshops on writing and mindfulness all over the country. Lisa's latest book is Not Just Me: Anxiety, Depression, and Learning to Embrace Your Weird. She is working on her next book.

Alex Peavey | Psychology '99

Alex Peavey  is a Team Consultant & Mindfulness Coach for VCU Men's Basketball, and he provides mindfulness training to college and professional athletes and teams across the country.  He is also the Mindfulness Consultant at the Health & Family Psychologists of Virginia, working with individuals in high school up through recent college graduates who are interested in learning mindfulness as a strategy for peak performance and peace of mind. Prior to these roles, Alex spent 14 years at Collegiate School, where he was one of the Upper School Counselors, Head Boys' Varsity Basketball Coach, Assistant Boys' Lacrosse Coach, and he started Collegiate's mindfulness program. In the community, Alex serves as the Mindfulness Coach for the Cameron K Gallagher Foundation, where he provides "Mindful Mondays" as a free offering to Richmond area high school students. Mindfulness has been a part of Alex's life since he first began practicing at age 15, and Alex received his professional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction under the direction of Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder and former directors of the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School. Alex graduated from UVA in 1999 with a BA in Psychology, and he later went on to receive an MS in Sports Leadership and MEd in Counseling from VCU. Alex is married to Sarah Peavey, and they have two children, Bodhi and Jane Peavey.

Kate Newman | Anthropology '91

Kate Newman is the Vice President Forest and Freshwater Public Sector Initiatives at the World Wildlife Fund.  As vice president for public sector initiatives, Kate Newman specializes in large-scale conservation planning and policy development in Africa and Asia. She credits her fascination with vast, complex landscapes to two inspiring early life experiences. Kate earned her degree in Anthropology at UVa and a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of London Imperial College.
