Local Health Tech Company Spotlight: TypeZero Technologies
As part of the Healthcare Community Blog Series, throughout the year, we will highlight certain companies, both local and national, doing innovative work within the non-clinical health care field. TypeZero Technologies LLC is a local personalized medicine startup designed to alleviate the burden of Type 1 and 2 diabetes. The company's mission is to improve health outcomes for patients, reduce the stress of daily requirements of insulin intake and diet management, and dramatically reduce the treatment cost. TypeZero was founded by Chad Rogers in 2013 with the advent of the mobile platform, inControl.
inControl works as an “artificial pancreas system” for the body, while two subprograms of inControl called Advice and Cloud, provide updated recommendations on meals, exercise, and levels of insulin intake and perform as a data analysis tool used by doctors to monitor patients’ habits and potential risks to make more suitable judgments on further treatment. Along with their own product, TypeZero has partnered with other companies to enhance glucose monitoring and give patients as many tools as possible to make diabetes a more manageable disease.
TypeZero has several internship opportunities throughout the year promoted through their website, specifically targeting students with data and technology expertise. For more information, visit the TypeZero Career Opportunities page to find a list of current opportunities.
