New Office Hours for Transfer Students

UVA Career Center – February 6th, 2017

Wondering how to talk about your transfer background in a resume or interview?
Want support exploring majors, careers, and opportunities at UVA and beyond?
Hoping to connect with resources and mentors relevant to your career development?

The Career Center is launching transfer office hours, held every Friday, 1-3pm, in Newcomb 170. No appointment needed - just drop by for a 10-15 minute personalized advising session, whether your questions are transfer-specific or not. You'll receive support that's knowledgeable, helpful, and tailored to your needs, with topics including resume and cover letter writing, interviewing practice, networking (including career fair prep and LinkedIn), internship/job search, using Handshake, and more!

These office hours will be hosted by Sophia Naide, a Career Peer Educator and former transfer student. Sophia relied on Career Center counselors and resources throughout her transition to UVA, and received invaluable support with choosing a major and designing her path at UVA. That experience ignited her passion for helping transfer students and providing career services. Sophia is excited to draw from her personal experience and her extensive training as a Career Peer Educator to serve the needs of transfer students. She’s ready to help you leverage your transfer background, make the most of your time at UVA, and engage in the career development process.
