The VA-NC Alliance is hosting its annual undergraduate research symposium, March 23rd – 24th at Virginia Tech. This year’s theme is "Fostering Innovation and Excellence in STEM." In order to find the best cities for diveristy in STEM, SmartAsset.com compiled a list of cities with the largest STEM workforce. They analyzed the industry to see who had the largest racial and gender diveristy. Check out their methodolgies through this link and the top ten below. Over this January externship at New City Arts Initiative in Charlottesville, Virginia, I had the opportunity to learn more about how a non-profit arts organization is run.
