Real Estate covers a wide breadth of different jobs ranging from property development, urban planning, law, management and investment. The Real Estate industry has grown dramatically in recent years. Real Estate transactions have become increasingly complicated and real property now changes hands much more frequently than in the past. This has led to significant growth within the industry as a whole and increased demand for a variety of Real Estate professionals.

Industry Timeline

For students interested in Real Estate finance, oftentimes recruiting happens alongside investment banking recruiting. Many investment banks have a real estate department and hire interns specifically for their real estate programs. Recruiting for these internships has varied. For some opportunities, 3rd year summer internships may begin taking applications as early as spring semester of 2nd year and continue into the summer following 2nd year.  There are other opportunities that happen outside of this schedule.

For other Real Estate careers, generally the hiring timeline is more fluid, with summer internships becoming available in the late fall or early spring semester. Full-time positions are generally available throughout the year.
