Industry Academies 

Academies are week-long immersive learning opportunities to take a deep dive into specific industry areas. These one-week experiences include hands-on skill development, coaching from industry-specific employers, and career development coaching in a supportive cohort environment. 

Upcoming Academies 

The DC Healthcare Academy program builds on your liberal arts education and competency in the 4 P’s of healthcare - pharma, policy, providers, and payers.  Students will expand their healthcare acumen to understand how healthcare policies are formed, explain the barriers to healthcare access, describe the spectrum of the healthcare delivery system, articulate the healthcare payment system, and understand the role of technology and analytics in healthcare.

The DC Business Academy is a one-week intensive training program that is intended to expand on your liberal arts education and build competency in five core business disciplines:

  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Strategy
  • Marketing
  • Project Management

Students will increase their business acumen in:

  • Finance
  • Accounting
  • Consulting
  • Marketing
  • Design Thinking
  • Team Dynamics
  • Presentation Skills

Students will also develop an understanding of how their liberal arts backgrounds have uniquely prepared them for business-oriented careers in these areas. Through active engagement with alumni mentors and hands-on cases, students will develop a deeper recognition of the day-to-day roles entry-level professionals encounter in various business disciplines and through intensive career coaching sessions, the students will enhance their ability to communicate their personal story to prospective employers.  Previous employers included: Clutch, Accenture, ESRI and other business industry leaders.
