Global Health Leadership Internship with Unite for Sight

The unpaid Global Health Leadership Internship with Unite for Sight in New Haven, Connecticut provides outstanding undergraduate, public health, medical and other clinical students, and graduate students, as well as recent graduates, with an opportunity to engage in high impact front-line global health delivery programs.  This internship has a minimum of a full-time 4 week commitment, but at least an 8-10 week commitment is preferable.

It is often difficult to get your hands on this information because most of the time, the answer is, “It depends.”  So the pre-health advisors at UVA have gathered this information to give you and your students the best information possible to make decisions for their future.  The data in the chart below should be considered with the following in mind:


The Doctorate of Medicine and of Philosophy (MD–PhD) is a dual doctoral degree for physician–scientists. MD-PhD candidates pursue this education to gain in-depth training in modern biomedical research and clinical medicine. The PhD may be awarded in a variety of disciplines within the biomedical sciences, as well as social and behavioral sciences, epidemiology, and public health to name a few. This dual career offers opportunities to work directly with patients, but also to impact large groups of people by advancing medical knowledge and developing new treatments.
