The University of Virginia hosts a variety of recruiting events and career fairs throughout the academic year for our students. These events provide employers with the opportunity to meet and talk with students and recent alumni about full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities.

All of the events we host are open to all UVA students. We closely collaborate with the varied career services offices around Grounds and we are happy to serve as your liaison to these offices with any recruiting questions.

Inclement Weather Policy

In case of inclement weather, please call (434) 924-SNOW. If the University is operating on a regular academic/work schedule or if employees are granted a grace period to arrive, the event will be held as scheduled. Therefore, NO request for release of obligation or refund will be granted. In the rare circumstance that the University is closed (i.e. classes are canceled), the event will be canceled and every attempt will be made to reschedule.

Cancelation/Refund Policy

Requests for registration cancelation must be made in writing to the UVA Career Center Employer Relations and Events Coordinator. Event expenses are incurred based on the number of registrants; therefore, NO request for release of obligation or refund will be granted if received by the Career Center less than 14 days prior to the event. A full refund will be granted if the request for cancelation is received at least 30 days prior to the event and a refund of 50% will be granted if the cancelation request is received 15-29 days prior to the event. Financial Commitment Disclosure: In confirming registration for this event, you are hereby contractually obligated to the terms set forth herein by statutes of the Virginia Commonwealth via UVA Career Center. The public and/or government organization is hereby placed on notice that failure to pay in full at the time goods or services are rendered or when billed (under the University department's conditions) may result in the imposition of interest (see Interest Fee reference below) on the unpaid balance. Returned checks will incur a handling fee of $25.00. If the matter is referred for collection to an attorney or to a collection agency, then the debtor will be liable for attorney's fees or additional collection fees of the unpaid balance.

Charges and Penalty Fees

The Code of Virginia, Chapter 44, Section 2.1-732, allows agencies to impose additional charges on past due accounts in certain instances as described below. Collection related charges and fees include the following:

  • Interest fee: Interest at the underpayment rate established pursuant to Section 6621 (a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code as prescribed in Section 58.1-15 of the Code of Virginia unless an alternative rate has been prescribed by State or federal law or regulation. Agencies should contact the Office of Tax Operations, Virginia Department of Taxation, to obtain the rate currently being charged.
  • Late Penalty Fees: Late penalty fees of not more than ten percent of the past due amount.
  • Administrative Costs: Administrative costs actually incurred in pursuing and collecting the past due amount.
  • Attorneys' Fees: Attorneys' fees incurred in pursuing and collecting past due amounts, whether billed by the Office of the Attorney General or by an outside attorney approved by the Office of the Attorney General.
