Peace Corps Campus Recruiter

As the Peace Corps Campus Recruiter, Anna is responsible for implementing a strategic recruitment plan at UVA and in the greater Charlottesville community. Through collaboration with student and community groups, presentations, small group discussions, workshops, and social media, Anna builds awareness about the Peace Corps experience and the dynamic work opportunities that await students and community members abroad. She also assists aspiring Peace Corps volunteers with the application process, coordinates the area network of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, and maintains connections with UVA alumni currently serving in the Peace Corps.

Prior to joining the UVA Career Center in January 2016, Anna served in the Peace Corps in Bolivia as a Water and Sanitation Volunteer (2007-2008). Working at a grassroots level with community agencies and women's groups, she helped establish programs to ensure safe drinking water and improve community and environmental health for their town of 6,000 people. Anna has additional experience in program management with several area nonprofits and schools, and she holds an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from the Curry School of Education. She is passionate about helping people shape and pursue their goals and take on new challenges.

Anna is a Charlottesville native and a JMU alum. She has completed a through hike of the 2,190-mile Appalachian Trail, and her main joy is spending time with family and friends.
