Associate Director, Employer Relations

Sara's role as an Assistant Director in the UVA Career Center includes working with students, administrators, and employers to provide outstanding career development programs and services. She advises students in all class years on a variety of career-related topics including choosing a major, choosing a career path, and searching for internships and full-time jobs. She assists students with resumes, interviewing skills, and graduate school preparation. Additionally, Sara coordinates the Business Career Community.

Before joining the UVA Career Center in January 2015, Sara served as Assistant Director for Career Development at Washington and Lee University. Outside of UVA, Sara is heavily involved with the American College Personnel Association, National Association of Colleges and Employers, and Virginia Association of Colleges and Employers. Additionally, Sara serves on the Alpha Xi Delta – Zeta Tau Advisory Board for her alma mater.

Originally from Knotts Island, a small island situated on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Sara completed her undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. After earning her Bachelor's degree in Management and Marketing, Sara obtained her Master of Education in College Student Personnel Administration from James Madison University. She lives in Fishersville, Virginia, with her husband (Bryan), daughter (Elizabeth), French bulldog (Milly), and English bulldog (Gunny).
