ELA 3300: Designing Your Professional Summer Experience

Course Description:

ELA 3300 is a 1-credit course for U.Va. students that provides students with in-depth career exploration, self-assessment, skill development, and search strategies to secure and prepare for a professional summer internship. Students will connect the skills and competencies developed in a liberal arts education with the core proficiencies sought by employers. Students will utilize the UVA Career Center resources and counseling staff for guided support. The Virginia Alumni Mentoring program will be used to connect students with multiple mentors to accelerate finding internship opportunities.  Design thinking tools will be used to generate options for students’ future and how to find an internship.
