Jopwell

Katharine McDonough – April 19th, 2018

Have you ever heard of Jopwell? It's a career platform that helps Black, Latinx, and Native American students find jobs, whether you are in school, graduating, or well into you're career. In 2017, Jopwell was listed as one of Fast Company's "Most Innovative Companies" and one of Entrepreneur's "100 Most Brilliant Companies." Launched by former Goldman Sachs employees Porter Braswell and Ryan Williams in 2015, the platform empowers members of their community to build their network and apply for professional opportunities. Jopwell itself is a pretty diverse company that is predominantly female (62 percent), 34 percent black, 28 percent Latinx, 21 percent Asian and 17 percent white. Their mission is not only to empower people to find a career that they are passionate about, but also to enable America's leading companies to recruit top talent from historically underpresented ethnic minority groups.
