New Graduate Admissions Options

Kalea Obermeyer – October 10th, 2017

Beginning with spring 2018 admissions, the Curry School will offer a direct admission option to current UVA students wishing to enroll in select graduate programs. This program allows prospective students to secure space in Curry graduate programs earlier than the regular admission option and requires a simpler application.

Curry Programs Eligible

The following undergraduate programs will now have direct admissions:

Some of the requirements for this new program include:

  • Minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA in a UVA undergraduate or graduate degree program at the time of admission

  • Submission of a goal statement

  • Optional: submission of letters of recommendation, writing samples, transcripts, or test scores

Additional Information

The deadline for direct admissions applications must be submitted before February 1. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so prospective students who submit applications earlier will receive decisions earlier.

The teacher education program is also piloting a fee waiver for all PGMT applications. Additionally, Curry offers fee waivers for a number of organizations, active duty service members and veterans, and to alumni and current students of minority-serving institutions.
