Get an Externship During Spring Break

Christie Julien – February 17th, 2017

We are excited to offer STEM students the opportunity to participate in a Spring Break Externship Program.

The Externship program through the Center for Engineering Career Development at the University of Virginia is designed to match students with employers and present students the opportunity to experience a job setting outside of a typical internship arrangement. Externships are typically unpaid and last for a few days. Often the externship will involve a student shadowing an employee of the company to learn more about a particular type of work or industry.  Participating in this program does not guarantee a paid internship or a full time position, but it is a great opportunity to learn more about an industry or an organization first hand.
