Apply to be a Student Docent at Fralin Museum of Art!

Taylor Lamb – February 28th, 2017

Are you interested in art and sharing it with others? Maybe you're just curious about The Fralin Art Museum, or maybe you didn't even know that UVa has an art museum!

The Fralin is now accepting applications for Fall 2017 semester's new class of Student Docents. Student Docents is an organization that works through the Fralin to give educational tours to a wide variety of groups. Each potential docent is selected from the application pool and interviewed. The final class is then chosen and trained how to give tours while learning about all of the unique art that is on display that semester.
Although they are a professional organization, they still have many social events, and new docents will find friends in their training class as well as the club as a whole!

No previous experience giving tours is required

No art history background is required

You don't even have to be in the College of Arts and Sciences to join!

They are looking for dedicated students who are willing to learn the new skills they want to teach you and have a genuine appreciation the art that UVa has to offer.

Any questions about the application process can be directed to the Selection Chair of the Docents, Talia Rosen! She'd be happy to answer as soon as she can at tjr3az@virginia.edu, or the Docent Coordinator can answer any questions at 434-243-2050 or by email.
