"SheVille Art Showcase and Fundraiser" Call for Submissions

Taylor Lamb – April 6th, 2017

Ignite, a student-organized social entrepreneurship group at HackCville, is putting on an Art Showcase and Fundraiser for local women's organizations that they hope will interest you!

The "SheVille Art Showcase and Fundraiser" will be held on Friday, April 28th at 7 PM, at 1515 University Ave

The show will feature art from local arists -- hopefully you!-- in order to raise awareness about women's resources in Charlottesville. They plan to exhibit/sell the art of any interested Charlottesville community members.

They are looking for art that has to do with the theme of womanhood. This theme is purposefully vague and open to interpretation. All art mediums are welcome as well as any variation of the theme -- interpersonal violence, girlhood, love, relationships, body image and so on. Whatever womanhood means to you!

Artists are welcomed to just have their works exhibited, or to "donate" them to be sold for proceeds to local agencies involved in addressing women's issues (which they encourage but do not require).

If you are interested in having your work at the event, please reach out to Caitlyn Seed at czs5gj@virginia.edu or SheVilleExec@gmail.com to coordinate as soon as possible! The submission deadline is Monday, April 24th. Feel free to reach out with any questions as well.
