Virginia Democrat seeks D.C. office staff assistant. Duties include assisting the chief of staff, helping to manage the front office, answering phones, greeting visitors, processing flag and tour requests, and performing other tasks as assigned. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, flexible, and efficient, with strong interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor. Capitol Hill experience and Virginia ties preferred but not required.

Professor Bryan Berger of the Department of Chemical Engineering has a project in need of a full-time technician/research scientist for 1 year and possibly extendable to 2 years. The position is NIH funded, and would require strong molecular biology skills – subcloning, plasmid preparation, site-directed mutagenesis, bacterial cell transformation, assay development. Several times a year, the Public Service and Government career community accepts resumes and cover letters from students interested in being considered for internship and full-time opportunities on Capitol Hill and includes them within a "resume book" that is sent to a number of UVa alumni currently working on the Hill.
