Become a YAART Fellow!

The YAART Fellos Programs provides an opportunity for young adults to receive training in research methods and act as advisors to research projects. The goal of the program is to partner with the community to discover and design research that answers important questions about the health of transgender and gender non-conforming young people. Check out these FAQS to learn more about YAART fellows.

Who can become a YAART fellow?
Any transgender or gender nonconforming person 18–26 can become a fellow.

How do I choose a major? How do I know that a major is right for me?  What if I pick the wrong major?  How do I figure out what to do after graduation?  How do I figure out what my skills are?  How do I know that the things I'm learning about now will help me later on? What if I end up working in an industry or a field I hate?

How to close the tech-job gap for minorities and low-income earners

Last year, White House economists predicted that low-income workers — those who make less than $20 an hour — face the highest probability of losing their jobs to robots. But people of color are especially at risk: an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission released a report last year finding that just about 8 percent of tech-sector jobs are held by Hispanics and 7.4 percent by African-Americans.

But there are some organizations out there trying to close the gap and make sure low-income workers and people of color aren’t displaced by robots and automation.
