Who We Serve

The UVA Career Center serves all degree-seeking students, regardless of major or year. Students in the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, McIntire School of Commerce, Curry School of Education, Department of Economics, and School of Engineering and Applied Sciences can also use career counseling services offered through those schools. Masters and Ph.D. students in the College of Arts & Sciences can schedule an appointment with the Graduate Career Development Office in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs.

Darden School of Business, Law school, and Medical school students should seek counseling from their own career services offices. The UVA Career Center does NOT serve students in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, with the exception of Bachelor of Independent Studies students.

UVA Career Center provides services and Handshake to undergraduates for one semester after they graduate.

  • Aug. and Dec. grads have access until the next June 30

Alumni Career Services is available to all UVA alumni upon graduation. Please note that Pre-Health Advisors at the UVA Career Center provide application assistance for alumni applying to health professions schools (medical, dental, physician assistant, etc.).
